Krystle Ford is a contemporary violinist and alumnus of Butler University’s Jordan College of Fine Arts. She has served as a mentor for the Indianapolis Children's Museum and as a violin teacher for the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Ms. Betty Perry. She has also had the opportunity to travel to South Africa to study religion, society, and HIV/AIDS. There, she did volunteer work with HIV and AIDS groups alongside with Morehouse College students.She has performed as a member of the Indianapolis Philharmonic Orchestra, Danville Symphony, and the Butler University Jazz Ensemble. She has had the privilege to play alongside great musicians such as the late Pookie Johnson, Cliff Radliff, Richard Wyands, Everett Greene, Bobby McFerrin, David Baker, Greg Buford, Doug Harris, David Young, and Larry Ridley. Krystle has studied classical violin for ten years and has developed a new love for jazz, gospel, and neo-soul. She is a two-time winner of the world renowned Showtime at the Apollo competition.Krystle also had the opportunity to travel to London where she studied jazz and music business as well as Spain where she gave demonstrations on jazz violin to young students at Las Musicas. She recently has performed with the Jazz Legacy Ensemble, SAGE an all female jazz ensemble, Thomas Warren Jr., Chanese, Lakecia Benjamin, Teddie 'Fx' Rollins, and the Mimi Jones band. She currently resides in New York and studies jazz with bassist Larry Ridley.
