"screenwriting and filmmaking is the most money you can make writing poetry" - Gordy Hoffman

About Me

Film is an art form that uses sound, color, movement, character and story to tell stories, and to entertain.
The world needs storytellers right now, so that it can imagine itself a new way forward, and movies are the medium of our era.
I am a poet with many years of experience who has recently begun screenwriting. (My spoken word profile is here , with samples.)
I have two screenplays I've completed but am re-writing, and have started a third. I have a lot to learn and try to pay attention to the advice of those with experience.
I am also a massage therapist, and former chef. I've lived in several states, and spent 3 years in Prague. I've been to grad school, been a homeless illegal alien, studied shamanism with a Native American pipecarrier and studied magick with a brilliant kook. I've survived both the abuse and the death of my husband. I've walked 60 miles in 3 days in my mother's honor and memory.
I love to take on new challenges, and I think that writing and, possibly, directing, movies - yes, I think this will keep me challenged for many years to come.

This week I saw what is one of the worst films I've ever seen: Striking Distance with Bruce Willis. I hadn't heard of it, and had to check to see whether it was meant to be a comedy - because it had s...
