About Me

croff since 2002 croff has been making music as a solo act, beginning with that year's ep, '3 minute singles,' and continuing through 2005's self-titled full length. each release has featured a variety of detroit-based musicians, including members of the sights, the hard lessons, the pop project, dcarlo, silent violet and others. promotion has been handled - if somewhat sporatically - by a live act of rotating talents. however, the official lineup is somewhat difficult to determine at any given time, as recent appearances have been performed without accompaniment. there is some speculation that even croff himself does not know who his bandmates are. in the meantime he may be found playing keys for local eccentrics the dead bodies while also recording a new full-length album, scheduled for a 2008 release. true to form, the new release is chock-full of guest appearances, featuring contributions from members of the hard lessons, ghost city, the dead bodies, darling imperial, solitary states, the beggars, and dial 81.

xtc - nonsuch (1992) - 4.5 stars

the three-year gap between 1989's oranges and lemons and 1992's nonsuch was, on the surface, equal to the duration that followed 1986's skylarking and its follow-up. there was one not-so-minor differe...
