Ceno has been a phenomal DJ for over a decade. His professional tag is DJ CENO. Not a stranger to recognition, DJ CENO was placed 3rd at the Street Funk TV DJ competition. All his life DJ CENO was surrounded by music, thanks to his father who spun Dizzy Gillespie, and Miles Davis when DJ CENO was still a tot. His father played the sax and the congas, which heightened DJ CENO interest in Salsa. At seven, DJ CENO took an interest in the piano. At the young age of 17, DJ CENO was an intern for Nervous Records at 42nd St. and Times Square. There he assisted Black Moon, Smith and Wesson (formerly known as the Co-Co Brovas, and Funk Master Flex (Hot 97 NYC Radio personality) and gained street credibility by promoting and marketing various artists' merchandise in stores and other venues.
By 21, DJCENO enrolled in F.I.T while employed at Elektra Entertainment. At the college DJ CENO was a prominent voice on the schools' Midday Fresh Mix- now known as Hip-Hop 101. He has finished degree in Advertising and Marketing Communications there. While at Elektra, DJ CENO assisted Busta Rhymes, Flip Mode Squad, En Vogue, Lil Mo, Akon, The Clipse, MC Lyte, and Missy Elliot by helping to expand their radio airplay.
DJ CENOS musical influences range from Tito Puente to The Supremes to the Jackson Five. He has a special affinity for the early R&B ("old skool") artists. His Hip-Hop influences include KRS-1, Eric B and Rakim, Grand Master Flash and The Furious Five as well as Dr Dre. His DJ influences are DJ Premier, DJ Spinna, DJ Scratch, Kenny Dope and The X-ecutioners.
DJ CENO is currently working on a dvd and developing his own promotions company Alpha Marketing& Promotions. His duties include artist development and marketing consultant/music production.
