I play and teach violin, and am writing a series of method books that synthesize all the elements of musicianship, including improvising, playing by ear, reading, songs, and technique building. The idea is for students to experience learning violin as natural and enjoyable; and for teachers to the perfect materials at their fingertips, already sequenced for them, beautifully designed and easy to use.
I enjoy linguistics, philosophy, the history of science, or anything with a philosophical or theoretical twist. I spent some serious time in the cognition department at UT. It's awesome applying those concepts in my violin studio and in designing my materials.
I was a member of the Austin Symphony for 12 years. Now I'm ready to explore life outside the classical music scene!
