Wow…what words can be given to describe this multi-talented, multi-faceted, extremely prolific, musician, magician, songwriter, beat-maker, producer, arranger, composer, artist ,entertainer and total talent, well all those and then some. As a extremely gifted, energetic, mesmerizing, spontaneous and tireless performer he’s been know to give his all whether performing in a standing room only local club, or at the jazz festival, or at your town’s amphitheater as an opening act for a national artist. William H. Matlock II AKA/BKA… BUTCH MATLOCK was born in Cleveland, Ohio as a third generation musician and entertainer. As a successful songwriter and ghostwriter he has penned many hits. He currently is the CEO of Quad M Productions musical entertainment production company and shares production collaborations and credits with Hungry Music Productions, Entertainment Cleveland…Tony Quarles and the Discovery Band, and Bread and Butter Productions. He plays 26 different instruments but primarily is know for his work on piano, electric keys and synths, bass and lead guitars, sax, trumpet, drums and percussion. A gifted lead and background vocalist who can present a clear falsetto as well as a deep bass, he’s also know for his ability to deliver a gritty hardcore down and dirty emotion filled tenor lead that leaves listeners wondering why he hasn’t already been signed by a major label with major distribution. Well folks you won’t have to wait much longer. Butch is in the finishing stage of his triple whammy, a Gospel CD…”Jesus comes first!”, an R&B CD (as yet unnamed)…and a Jazz CD…”JUNK” {=JAZZ/FUNK} to showcase this extraordinary undiscovered talent. Butch has served as the musical director for many Karamu House productions as well as a few off-Broadway stage plays and production in New York City. He has a B.A in social work and when not performing or producing works as a community, family, and children’s social advocate. As a touring performer and musician he has opened for such artist as The Ojays, Lil’ Richard, The Temptations, Roger Troutman and Zapp, Z.Z. Hill, Midnight Starr, Travis “Moondog” Haddix, The Imperial Wonders, The Sly Slick and the Wicked, The Stylistics, The Dramatics, The Whispers, The Dazz Band, The Spinners and many others. Yep he goes back ole school…but he is currently providing keyboard and guitar tracks and samples for hip hop artist ,the Chrome, The Heavyweights, and other Hungry Music artist.
