About Me

Profile courtesy of MySpace LayoutsSinger, Guitarist & Composer . After having limited success in the 1980's & early 1990's I retired from the Music business for over ten years. I totally lost my way and was sucked into the consumer led Prostitution of a "good" Job. Oh so many years wasted- just surviving and making money for others. In 2004 after a divorce I started writing and recording music again which resulted in the album "The Blood of a Poet" This was written whilst I lived in Newham, London E.15. The track "Parasoles in Paradise" deals with Newham Councils feeding frenzy with the Olympics and Eurostar "All hail the train which brings profit & gain". 2005 saw the next album entitled " An Isolated Outbreak of optimism" tracks from this album have now been deleted........... 2006 and I recorded "A brand new Dream-Same Old Nightmare" Recorded in Romford, Essex where I still live . ...... 2007-The Album entitled "The Silence Of Ghosts"-"Babylon" is wisdom from the grave, advice for my children before its too late to leave any .......... 2008 "Mystery Girl" is from the new album " The Ludovico Technique" and heralds a time in my life when Romance was alive and well and the thrill of the chase was enough due to other commitments. "Have you ever wondered why ?" from the 2008 album. This is about the eternal struggle for an artist to "find his muse" and considers why we are prompted to look for it in the first place. Why do some people write poetry when others do not ? Also a taster from the 2008 album entitled "The Garden " is written about a magic place in East London, My Nan's back garden. Oh what wonderful memories. The last track to be recorded for the new album is "Say Something" (Echoing) I have set up a new page on soundclick which enables you to hear other material by me. Just search for Dave Humphreys-HOM you will be able to hear my tribute to Stuart Adamson "Song for Stuart" on this site.

Sounds Like: A child. A starry eyed dreamer who exists in the world between sleep and waking. A poet, painter, musician & songwriter. A worldweary prophet of doom for the world and all who sail in her. A lover of laughter, honesty and integrity who above all believes honour and virtue are still worth striving for in this world of exploding rocketships, laughing demons and villains and corrupt cancer riddled politicians. Where the inhabitants of the world put themselves, their affluence and their interests before everything, anything or their fellow man.Too young to be a hippy, too old to be naive enough to believe things will really change but still dreaming of that wonderful utopia that I can almost touch , taste & smell. The Horror, The Horror !And thats just the second album !
