Savia Andina was one of the first modern groups to reclaim and disseminate the traditional songs and contemporary folk music of the rural Andes as a source of cultural pride for all Latin Americans, and to popularize this music for the legions of young people struggling to find new ways of merging their traditional and contemporary identities. Today, there is a renaissance throughout South America in the use of ancient instruments and folk music of the Andes as a means to investigate the richness and complex diversity of our past. The impact of Savia Andina has been immediate and widespread. Within three months of their first appearance, they were recognized internationally, and asked to play for fifteen days at the renowned Olympia in Paris, considered by some to be the Cathedral of Art in Europe. They have used this success as a way to spread the ancient folklore and cultures of the Andes throughout the world, having brought our message to stages in the five continents. Savia Andina has made 46 records and 4 DVDs in 30 years of intense artistic career in countries like Japan, USA, Brazil, Peru, Spain, Canada and Colombia to name a few. They have always characterized for showing the technical possibilities Andean instruments can have no only in Bolivian music but also in classical, Latin American, Celtic, Russian, country and other styles of music.
