DAN LETHBRIDGE

Born in country Queensland, Dan started playing music in Brisbane before moving to Melbourne in 2004. He arrived with a three piece band that, unlike any other band before it, was to come to an end sooner than anyone had planned. He then became a solo performer in the singer/songwriter mold and has not looked back since.
Dan's sound has drawn comparisons with Wilco and Neil Young amongst others, despite a range of musical influences. Put it down to the years spent in wide-open places, both home and abroad, that has left a feeling of space and longing to Dan's music. His lyrics, while often dark and personal, can also provide an uplifting experience for the listener.
The last few years have been busy for Dan; performing solo or with keyboard maestro and muse Jed Pickett at venues across the country. In February 2008 Dan toured the East Coast with Australian troubadour Mick Hart. The tour was a great success and he relished the opportunity to play to receptive audiences in larger venues. Dan now shares the stage with The Campaigners, a five-piece outfit made up of crack Melbourne players which help to bring his songs in to full colour.
And so comes 'Dreamers Of The World Unite' Dan’s lush, debut album recorded throughout most of 2007. A labour of love, it features some of Melbourne’s finest musicians and is co-produced, mixed and mastered by Jeff Evans. Not content with an acoustic guitar and vocals, 'Dreamers Of The World Unite' brings a full band sound to Dan’s songs for the first time with drums, guitars, lap-steel, piano, wurlitzer and violin all combining to great effect. The album has received national airplay through ABC radio and strong support from local stations such as RRR, PBS and 4ZZZ.
