HUDAKI VILLAGE BAND comes from Transcarpathia – the mountain region, squeezed inbetween Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania which was used as an additional barter colladerol by „Big Europe“ during land disputes. And because of the long-lasting undeveloped economy in the mid of previous century this land was proclaimed „European Africa“!HUDAKI VILLAGE BAND are enticing you to visit for a holiday in a Carpathian village, which you’ll not forget for a long time! Eight singers and musicians sing tragic ballads and mocking songs, they play wild dances and wedding marches with an odd rythm… there is no immitation, schemes or strict rules here: everything is real, coming from the real life of real people. Mischa, our violin player, can’t read notes at all, but his music is as real and raw as himself. Katia impresses with her mighty voice that can break a wall and minimize any distance. Her singing manner is supplemented by her fantastic body language. Listening to Katia you feel that she had known all these songs from infancy, absorbing the spirit of the traditional music with the milk of her mother. All together these musicians radiate energy, that eclipses the outside world!
