The band's foundation was laid with brothers Joseph (guitar) and Tomas' (vocals) shared love of fine ol’ rock n roll music and good times. Joe’s mate Liam (guitar) was soon a regular at the bedroom/garage jams and bands were formed and laid waste. In early 2008 with a swag of tunes and itchy trigger fingers, Liam (bass) was drafted into the ranks and Romy (drums) soon joined to complete the line up.
The band played their first gig on Australia Day 2008, and have been playing shows and festivals around Melbourne for over a year, with their energetic brand of anthemic rock n roll winning new fans and admirers wherever they play.
A bunch of demos channelling the bands sound “...kinda like a Kinks and Stones house party with You Am I supporting and Oasis smashing the front door down...†was recently recorded with Garth Cahill and the band is poised to record its debut EP in the coming months.
The stage is set for a huge 2009 with the band embarking on a tour of Europe in June/July, playing the Nibe Festival in Denmark, as well as shows in Sweden, Finland and Latvia. It'll be a northern uprising.
Chevrolet Rise’s sound is a rock n roll fusion that shouts years yet indulges the ear to engage and capture the freshness of a young band on a mission.
Go all the way or don’t go anywhere.
