Silver Story

''Silver Story are four musicians originating from St.Helens, Liverpool and Sheffield. Front-man Alex McCabe had been writing and recording songs since age fifteen and had wanted to form a band for years.
Fate brought Silver Story together in 2006 when Alex was allocated into the same university flat as lead guitarist Brian Sambrooks. Sharing a love for music and songwriting the two quickly developed musical chemistry and they applied this to the early versions of what are now popular Silver Story songs. During that first year at university Alex and Brian wrote 'Drop' , 'The End' , 'Nothing' , 'Frantic' and 'Save me' by following a simple formula; Alex would individually write the chords, lyrics, vocal melody and overall structure and Brian would then add the guitar riffs and melodies, it is a process that the band still use to this day.
Despite writing many songs the band did not take off for over a year, after finding a bassist in the shape of liverpudlian Ben Taylor Silver Story were still without a drummer. They had recorded demo versions of ''Nothing'' and ''Drop'' (using a drum machine) and uploaded them to their myspace and were recieving positive feedback, however, the band simply could not play shows.
In November 2007 Gaz Haigh, an old friend of Alex's, agreed to join the band as a temporary member. After hearing the material Gaz did not need much persuasion to join Silver Story on a permanent bassist. Ben's younger sibling Liam Taylor offered to manage the band part-time as he was still in college and booked a string of gigs throughout early 2008, during this period Silver Story played at famous and coveted venues in the North-West such as Barfly, The Cavern, Boardwalk, The Citadel and even managed to secure a support slot playing at Liverpool 02 Academy 1 alongside 'Whole lotta led'.
In april 2008 Silver Story recorded and self-released their demo album ''Are we there yet?'' which sold out within the first two months. During that summer the band took a two month break so that some of the members could travel and work abroad. In september of that year the band returned to the UK manager-less yet somehow more determined and ambitious. The band travelled to London to discuss their ambitions with Ville Lepannen of The Animal Farm and consequently recorded their debut EP 'soulmate: Eliminate' in November.
2009 looks set to be an important year for Silver Story with plans of a UK tour and the forthcoming release of the 'soulmate: Eliminate' EP the question is not IF the band will create a buzz, but WHEN.''
