Leafspring

About Me

Indianapolis-based Leafspring finds themselves at the crossroads of many great musical influences. From Aerosmith in Boston to Counting Crows in California and from John Mellencamp in Indiana to Sister Hazel in Florida; Leafspring uses a diverse influence to create their own familiar sound. ____________________________________________________________ _ Creating and sharing music is all Jeremy Miller and Jantzen Emerson have ever WANTED to do and have been doing just that for the past 7 years. Through many previous bands and many more band members they have compiled a sizeable library of original songs and played countless live shows. Jeremy and Jantzen have also recorded and released a handful of albums with those bands. ____________________________________________________________ _ More recently, Leafspring just returned from a week stint in Austin, Texas. While there, they played a handful of dates in Austin, San Marcos and Gruene; provided support for some Austin-based bands playing local shows; and continued writing and developing new original songs. All the while promoting their self-recorded/produced/released demo, "Demo'd." ____________________________________________________________ _ Currently, Leafspring is ready to hit the stage again while they continue writing, recording and producing a new full-length album based on the warm response to their current demo. ____________________________________________________________ _ As new shows are scheduled, Jeremy and Jantzen hope you'll come along for the ride, again.Peace.

Band Members: Currently Jantzen Emerson and Jeremy Miller do it all. Two singer songwriter/guitarists that have already had one major release album with a previous band. They have moved on to greater things by creating Leafspring. There is more room to grow and more space for other musicians to join and add their talents to the band. After nearly 15 years they have their sights set on local, regional and national touring while continuing their consistent recording. Done grassroots-style.***Jantzen here... give us a listen, tell your friends. We've got a little something for everyone, alternative, rock, country, comedy... We're not trying to please everyone or break any new ground just doing what we love. Hope some of you can enjoy it, too.
Influences: Sister Hazel; Aerosmith; Tom Petty; Todd Snider; Cowboy Mouth; Counting Crows; Hootie and the Blowfish; Lynyrd Skynyrd; Collective Soul; Push Down & Turn; Kenny Wayne Shepherd; Hank Williams, Jr.; John Mellencamp; Elvis Presley; Ricky Skaggs; Will Hoge; Tool; Candlebox; The Clarks; John Mayer; Will Kimbrough; Tommy Womack; and Dave Matthews Band...
Sounds Like: So the influences should give a pretty good idea as to what/who we sound like. It is a very Southeastern sound. The best description we've heard of this particular type of music is "y'all-ternative." Unfortunately, proper credit can not be given for that description as we did not create it. We read the term in an interview with Ryan Newell of Sister Hazel. We are not trying to sound like everyone at the same time, nor are we are not trying to break any new ground. We are just trying to make music that we like and that we can share with others. Hopefully others can enjoy our music, too. We're putting the finishing touches on a demo right now, as we finish them up we'll post them. Check back.
