Church HistoryNew Spirit Revival Center is a bible-based, non-denominational, Christ-centered church with a Pentecostal / Charismatic persuasion founded by Drs. Darrell and Belinda Scott in February of 1994.The Scott's received the vision for New Spirit Ministries in 1990. After much prayer and deliberation, with an eye on God's Divine Timetable, New Spirit Revival Center was officially chartered on the 14th day of February, 1994 with only 4 members. Today, New Spirit Revival Center is a multifaceted ministry numbering in the thousands.With the rapid growth of the ministry, a new place of worship was inevitable. God used Dr. Darrell and Belinda & the New Spirit Revival Center family to purchase an old Jewish Synagogue and Civic Center of over 110,000 square feet and they are in the process of restoring the center into a multi-use facility and beautiful sanctuary.In addition, under the leadership of Drs. Darrell and Belinda, New Spirit Revival Center purchased and renovated a mansion on the east side of Cleveland that has been used as a shelter home for homeless women with children. They've also purchased a car wash, which provides employment to members of the congregation; and 10 acres of virgin land within the city limits to develop and provide affordable housing for seniors.For making great strides in the kingdom and continually striving for excellence, the Lord has blessed ths Scott's in all that they've done, including faith based business ventures. New Spirit Revival Center has most recently acquired a major radio station and considers it an honor to be the first church in the city of Cleveland to do so.Because the burden of saving souls is genuine to the Scott's, they realized that the ministry God blessed them with had to be expanded to include not only local radio, but national and international television as well. They have been on 5 major networks, CBS TV's local affiliate in Cleveland, Ohio (which covers all of Ohio and parts of Kentucky, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Canada), The Word Network, PAX-TV, CTN- Christian Television Network (WPLC Ch.26) covering all of Detroit, Michigan and surrounding suburbs and extending into Windsor, Ontario and Sky Angel (worldwide satellite coverage).In 1998, Dr. Belinda Scott founded the Women's Educational Mentoring Alliance (WEMA). This program was designed to mentor and educate women who have a burden and desire to minister the gospel. The first WEMA class started with over 200 applicants and the first graduation took place in June of 2000 with over 90 ladies obtaining certificates of completion.
