Takaya Kawasaki, singer/songwriter from Japan, has been writing and performing for several years in Japan. He touched the hearts of many people in Japan with his music, performing in numerous venues around Japan. His self-produced debut Album, Higashi no Sora, which was released in 2005 has been acclaimed by many critics in the indie music scene.
In 2006 he brought his soulful music to the Big Apple and ever since then has been making an impressive impact in the New York music scene. His catchy melodies and unforgettable lyrics (all in Japanese) are appreciated and loved regardless of the apparent language barrier. Takaya believes "music is a universal language and it doesn't matter if I sing in English or Japanese because music touches everyone no matter what part of the world you are in".
Currently he is working on his second album which is tentatively scheduled to be released late Spring of 2008.
