Their energetic and spontaneous approach to music has fascinated audiences all over the world. The group..s oustanding style combined with virtuotic playing has brought many prizes and nominations: the band was chosen as †the Traditional Group of the Year 1996†by the Finnish National Broadcasting company YLE and was announced as †the Group of the Year 1995†by the international Kaustinen Folk Music Festival. Spontaani Vire won the National Folk Music contest of Jorma Panula in 2000. All four musicians have studied at Sibelius-Academy in Helsinki, Finland.

EERO GRUNDSTRÖM (harmonium) is known for his mind-blowing and original playing style. He is a master of improvisation with the harmonium and all keyboard instruments, and also plays the harmonica in the famous SVÄNG-orchestra. Eero has composed music to many dance-, music- and theatre productions and worked with numerous bands. He also performs solo and teaches at the Sibelius-Academy in Helsinki.
EMILIA LAJUNEN (violin, keyed fiddle) is known for her big-hearted playing style and works with several bands (Suo, Silmu, Juuri & Juuri) and soloprojects. Emilia composes solo material for the nyckelharpa (keyed fiddle) and 5-string violin. Emilia has succeeded in various solo competitions in Finland and on abroad: She won the second prize of solo class in Scandinavian Master Competition NORD 08, in Sälen Sweden on November 2008. She is also a very skilled singer and nyckelhapra player. With the Silmu group she combines her violinism with tricky dancing.
JOHANNA JUHOLA (accordion, claviola) is the uncrowned Queen of the accordion. She is a very productive composer, works with numerous bands (Troka, Duo Milla Viljamaa & Johanna Juhola, Las Chicas del Tango) and has released a circus-influenced solo album "Miette" which has been noticed in the press on an international level. She has won the International Astor Pizzolla competition (2000) and the International "Città di Castelfidardo"-award/Astor Piazzolla music section in 2002.
SARA PULJULA (double bass) is a multi-genre-oriented bass and percussion player who has performed in more than 20 countries with several bands and dance groups (Rimpparemmi, Gjallarhorn). Her unforgettable groove can be experienced with for example the bands HEREÄ and Pekka Kuusisto & the Luomu players. Sara has worked in various theatre-, modern dance-, and circus productions and can be heard in more than 30 recordings.
