About Me
I am a drummer, percussionist, and recording engineer based in Charlotte, NC. I perform and record music for a living. I frequently get asked, "Are you in a band?" In fact, I play in a bunch of bands. The bands I play with the most frequently these days are Mitch Easter’s touring rock band, a jazz trio called Big Octave, and Shalini, but from time to time, I play with a number of rock bands, jazz bands, singer/songwriters, and in churches and theatrical productions. I am also a freelance recording engineer, which means that I am an independent contractor and work in a number of different recording studios. Usually, bands will contact me because they’ve heard and liked something I’ve done or they’ve heard good things about working with me. Once they’ve decided to work with me, we’ll decide on a studio in which to record. I’ve worked in LOTS of studios in the Charlotte area, but I’ve also worked in studios in Florida, Tennessee, Illinios, Indiana, Georgia, London, and other parts of NC. I’m fortunate to have worked in some capacity with lots of musical greats like Don Dixon, Mitch Easter, Frank Kimbrough, Aaliyah, General Johnson, Marti Jones, Joe Firstman, Gabe Dixon, Arthur Smith, Brian Paulson, Jolene, Omar Tyree, and Jamie Hoover. I am currently a contributing writer for the best recording magazine in publication, TapeOp.
