The Mikail Aslan EnsembleIn February 2000 became the Mikail Aslan ensemble of Mikail Aslan, with Michael Weil and Dieter Schmalzried in Mainz. The musical basis are self-compositions and traditional pieces from the homeland of Mikail Aslan. The musical roots lie in the Kurdish, Armenian, Persian and Turkish music culture. Most texts of the music pieces are written in Mikails native language Zazaki, is related to Kurdish and Persian. On the basis of these compositions of Mikail Aslan the ensemble in common work develops the linkage of the frontasiatic music culture with elements from European music, Jazz, Pop and Folk. The ensemble had in the meantime numerous appearances in completely Europe, on Culturfestivals and in concerts as well as appearances in broadcast and television. A further common project of the musicians are the sounds of the Euphrates. Here the emphasis more is put on the authentic rendition of the music from the upper two-current country and its environment. The ensemble is strengthened thereby by further musicians. First results were presented 2002 in concerts in Wiesbaden and Mainz. A provisional high point of this work was a concert of the extended ensemble with the Sinfonieorchester of the Peter Cornelius conservatoire Mainz in the premiere of the symphony No. 5 „Connections “of Gerhard Fischer Münster to 20. April 2005. The symphony is composed around the piece „escape of the Munzur (Remayise Munzuri) “of Mikail Aslan and connects traditional anatolische sounds with the modern version of the Mikail Aslan ensemble and the sounds of the European Sinfonieorchesters.
