Profile courtesy of MySpace LayoutsNadezhda Nikolaeva was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. She started to play piano at the age of six. After finishing her course at the High School of Music "Dobrin Petkov", Plovdiv, she continued her education at the National Academy of Music “Pancho Vladigerov”, Sofia, where she complited her studies with Professor Dimo Dimov. In 2005 she made a piano specialization at the Hochschule der Kunste, Bern, Switzerland. In 2006 she was accepted at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, UK, for a Master of Music Degree course. Nadezhda is winner of many prizes and awards such as: Entry Scholarship Award from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, UK; First Bela Bartok Prize from the International Summer Academy Prague-Vienna-Budapest; Prize from the First Academic Competition for Piano Duos “Seiler”, Sofia; Third Prize from the International Competition “Young Music Talents”, Sofia, in Chamber Music Category. She is a regular soloist of the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Academy of Music “Pancho Vladigerov”, Sofia and The Pazardjik Symphony Orchestra, Bulgaria and also participated in “Sofia Music Summer” International Music Festival, “Thracian Musical Summer” Festival, Plovdiv and “Winter Musical Evenings” Festival, Pazardjik. Nadezhda has made recordings for the Bulgarian National Radio, Eurocom and Cabelsat Televisions, Bulgaria and also gave a recital for UBS Bank, Bern, Switzerland.
