About Me

Welcome everyone to the OFFICIAL MySpace for Bear Grylls. My name is Melissa, and I'm the host of this page. Although I'll be taking on the responsibility of hosting, and maintaining this page, I assure you that Bear is well aware (and in approval) of it's existence! This page is (despite what you may have been told, or led to believe, this is the ONLY one) actually endorsed by the real Bear Grylls. As you can imagine, he is an extremely busy man, but one who graciously thanks his fans for their support and encouragement. Please feel free to leave comments, and I will be sure to update the page as often as possible with pics, answers to popular questions, messages, and information that Bear has kindly agreed to supply me with whenever he has the chance!! For those of you who'd like to learn a bit more about Mr. Grylls, please enjoy the following information. . .
Bear spent three years with the British Special Forces. During this time he had a horrendous parachuting accident whilst in southern Africa and broke his back in three places. Yet two years later, after severe rehabilitation, he overcame the odds to become the youngest British climber ever to reach the summit of Mount Everest and return alive.
His book on this extraordinary story soared into the Top 10 of the Bestseller list. He has since written two further best-selling books and lead numerous other record breaking expeditions. His passion and enthusiasm for the outdoors are now shared & enjoyed through his TV programs in over 100 different countries around the world.
Bear is one of the youngest and most successful motivational speakers. His most recent incredible endeavor is GKN Mission Everest. May 14 2007 Bear and Gilo Cardoza attempt the flight to the summit of Everest with Bear becoming the first man to successfully fly a powered paraglider to such heights, raising One Million dollars for Global Angels, to help children around the world!
