As you may have noticed from my list of heroes - I am a child of the Old Skool Hardcore generation. Just missed the field rave days of 92 but started getting out in 93 to what most 16 yr olds then would have considered the coolest club in London -
The Lazerdrome in Peckham (RIP).
.
Moved through the hardcore years and into drum and bass, after 2000 I started to look more to where all my sampled music originated and thus started a journey backwards in time with my record purchasing.
I bought my 1st pair of turntables in '93 and finally made it to a pair of Technics in '00 - I have been scratching away ever since then.
Moved back London way in 2001 after 5 years in Southampton and now live just up the road from the Lazerdrome (which is now hideous cheap flats!). Hooked up with the Das Miesters Cru from Brixton soon after and was introduced to the sound of Nu Skool Breaks.
Met dj Delsa through the Das Miesters club night Future Fuzion in Brixton where I was a resident. Went on to become a regular guest at Delsa's Total Niceness nights based over at Inigo in Clapham and now co-promote
Total Niceness//BASS CHRONICLES based in South London. Our nights feature D&B, Breaks, Dubstep, Electro, Hip Hop and Old Skool - BIG BAD BASS !
I have recently struck up a partnership with dj
Boywonder (watch this space for new mixes soon!) and have become a regular member of the
Armitage Skanks Crew (Boy Wonder,
Collins 303 ,
DTism , Miss T) - purveyors of dowhatchalike party tunes at club nights in Shoreditch and on internet station
NSB Radio
You can also catch me representing the Luton based
Apply The Breaks crew from time to time - laying down some scratches in the absence of Daddy Fingaz.
...and don't forget to tune into the Armitage Skanks Show every Tuesday night from 1900-2100 GMT on NSB Radio
