Non-conformity. Seems impossible. Don't we all have to conform to something? Yeah, we do, as the more people who fight against conformity tend to become clones of each other and end in fail most epic. Go figure.
Non-conformity in this case however means to rupture the mold being forced upon us and striving for the ideal world where we can all turn choice from an illusion to a reality.
Those sitting in the ivory towers don't want us to think for ourselves, don't want us to be challenged or to question the world around us. They want us to fall in line, stay conformed to our molds, and slave away like good little drones, oblivious and blissful in our ignorance. But what they want, and what they deserve, are two very different things.
Lies can be used to tell the truth. Everything I write is a total lie, yet hopes to demonstrate some brutal truths those in the towers don't want to acknowledge. I strive to break bonds of genre and cliche to show my readers something different, to mix and match elements and weave disparate threads into a singular unified mural. I hope there are those out there willing to join me in this journey.
"Rationalization is a tranquilizer, it keeps the people asleep. Everything you hear launched from the pulpits with fire and brimstone are rationalizations for why this world seems wrong and they are played over constantly in our minds, pacifying the inner torment we feel when we rise each morning. They come from a small voice in the back of our heads telling us to fail and take a broader road, and the fear they instill keeps us listening. But what if that voice were to suddenly just stop and we could see the world for what it truly is? " - Vincent Tervingi
"Those who rule from the towers look down at the shadows they cast and know they are one." - Anubis
"People are sheep…sheeple. It’s why we all eventually lost our way when we were forced to split and hide underground for our survival, it’s why the gods withdrew themselves from us and why not a single soul has transcended this world since the days of old. But soon we will be reborn." - Xang
