About Me

I grew up listening and being inspired by the sounds of Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind And Fire, Bobby Womack, Brenda Fassie, Ojays, Sam Cooke to name a few.
i moved to California at the age of 13. Living in California, Hiphop began to grow in me. I started listening to Kurtis Blow, Run Dmc, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, NWA, Ice Cube, Ice T, Roxanne Shante, Eazy E, X-Clan, Big Daddy Kane, King T, and Too Short.
In 1989 I picked up my first computer and Amiga 2000 with an 8 bit sampler, a turntable and some records, I learned the art of sampling and making beats, I credit most of the tricks I learned then with the limitations it had. By 1993 I moved back to Botswana and hooked up with IQ and Slim and we started making beats and making a few records. By 1998 I started my own record label (Unreleased Records).
I released my first maxi single record co-produced by IQ; Snaz and X-Amount (Cashless Society) “Blaze the Breaks” which was released through independent distribution through Fondle’em Records in New York and also in South Africa.
In 2003 we put a full length album of Cashless Society distributed through Sony/BMG records. The album featured the hits "Hottentot Hop Bantu 1,2" , "Taxi Wars", "Summer Craze", and "831" and "Words 4 Real" all except Taxi Wars and 831 were produced by myself.
In 2005 when Cashless Society fell apart, I hooked up with Young Nations and released a full length album through Gallo Record Company. The album is produced by Draztik alongside Megahertz. The first single "Zwakala Emzansi" features Ray Phiri which embodies an old classic Stimela song Called "Zwakala- Come to me". It was an idea I had for many years to feature our own legendary musicians, it’s was a breakthrough in South African hiphop, because unlike most music hiphop samples, we managed to get Ray Phiri to replay parts of the classic song and produce it from scratch.
I Use the Mpc 1000 and Acid Pro 6 for my production.
