I am having a sale. Prices will never be this low EVER again! This is the site of a TRUE starving artist. Have a heart, and if you like something you see, contact the artist and make an offer. No reasonable offers will be refused.
I'm working primarily with painting, photography, sculpture and found object constructions and have been doing so for the past 20 years. I truly understand the hidden value in objects and can bring that out. If you would like to know more or are interested in purchasing any of my works, just ask. Prices vary. Remember the images labeled as -NFS- are not for sale. If you are curious you can check out some of my early digital work with Kevin D. Smith and other renowned artists on
The Acid-Free Paper. or check out Polyesterthought.com I was also involved in a 1996 Internet collaboration called The Robe with German artist Leslie Huppert. Her site seems always to be under construction but there is a video to watch if you understand German. You can also Google my name and come up with sites like Tips Daniel's Story.
If you have made it reading this far, you have probably guessed, I'm a starving artist. So really, what is this all about? "About Me". Sure, why not. I've had a typical childhood, except for the fact that I spent quite a bit of time in casts as a kid due to "club feet". Struggling with that is enough for any child. I felt intellectually mature at a very young age (somewhere between 8 and 11). This resulted in my struggle. I made it though. Music is one of my great loves. You can hear some of my favorite musicians here. I have three brothers and I am the third. I guess they are busy making their own way, I don't hear from them much, or their family? I have never been married. Perhaps you are out there, understand me and we will meet one day. I received a fine arts degree in 1988 from Queen's University at Kingston, ON and have since been pursuing a passionate career as a visual artist. I believe there is a need in our life for us all to express ourselves creatively. And we all do it in our own way and our own time. Only history can tell us which if any of the works we create are important. The work I create is a personal expression or vision about society and environmental issues I find important. I use abstract techniques to articulate my post modern concerns, a philosophical or neoist approach perhaps. Start Googling... Check out my "New Works" in my pics. These are a series of acrylic paintings with digital transfers called "Deconstructing Abstract".
This is it for me for now. I hope you enjoy my voyeuristic personal display and creative work. Interest and comments are always welcome.
P.S. I believe the internet may be modern history in the making!

Deconstructing Abstract
There comes a time when one needs to explain
oneself. What a rebel! Starting with automatic paintings and combining photographic digital image transfers I bring into question how our preoccupations with perceptions are influenced by what we see. Many of the images created, which are recognizable, are buried beneath layers of abstract painting and have been changed. I have been living for a very long time in two worlds. In one I am the master artist, capable of rendering many images with many different materials. I have had limited success with
commissions because of a limited demand.
On the other hand I am an experimentalist. I like
to try new things, combining materials in different
ways and generally have fun with whatever
medium I’m using, including this keyboard.
Materialism in today’s culture forms an oasis
where people can hang out with their toys containing
built-in obsolescence, look cool and fit in. This
is very transient and constantly evolving as
fashion/technology advances. This leaves
a vast quantity of refuse. Hence my subject
matter, “one heck of a lot of junk eh?â€. My materials and subject matter tends to come from what is familiar, my home, the landscape around me and the people I know. The titles for each piece represent what I have seen in this non-objective approach to creative work. I often feel I go too far trying to bring realism back into the abstracts I start with. I always start with a painting and then
introduce the digital imagery. Works are often finished
with more painting creating a multi-layered
construct I think would look so much better in your home
then in my storage space!
The following works are between 8.5 inches by 11 inches and 16 inches by 20 inches without a matt and are for sale. Contact me if you are interested in learning more.
