The Night is Young and we Have Umbrellas in our Drinks!

About Me

I am currently in my 5th year at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, working on a BS in Chemistry… and I eventually plan on getting my Ph. D. so I can become a professor. I'm not sure exactly sure where I want to go to grad school, but I'll figure that out soon, I hope. I spent the summer on an internship at the University of Southern California doing research into alternate ways of producing ethylene and propylene (which are very important in plastic productions). The campus was beautiful and I’m glad I had the chance to go!

My Interests

My interests incldue riding my motorcylce, biking, running, playing tennis, reading, watching anime, backpacking/camping, rollerblading, and playing video games.

I'd like to meet:

Ryan Reynolds or Bruce Campbell. = )

Music:

I’m mostly into rock, but I’ll listen to almost any type besides rap/country. My other favorite genres range from alternative, ska, power metal, classical, and techno. My favorite bands include Jimmy Eat World, Bare Naked Ladies, Green Day, Coldplay, Relient K, Matchbox 20, Tom Petty, Bond… and some I know I’m missing here. I also like a lot of classical stuff like Styx, Boston, Chicago, Eagles, and Queen.

Movies:

I prefer a good comedy over most styles of movies. My favorites include: Van Wilder, Eurotrip, Wedding Crashers, Shaun of the Dead, Army of Darkness, Spaceballs, Shrek, and Toy Story. Non-comedy fav’s: Kill Bill, X-men, Pirates of the Carribian, Star Wars (the original 3), Spiderman, Titan A.E., and Terminator.

Television:

I rarely ever watch TV, but when I do it's usually something like South Park, Futurama, Arrested Development, Family Guy, Star Trek TNG, Monk, Seinfield, Avatar, Batman Beyond, DBZ, or Red Dwarf.

Books:

Alright... this list can go on for a long while, so I'll try to keep it short = ). Favorite series: Sword of Truth, by Terry Goodkind; Wheel of Time, by Robert Jordan; Otherland, by Tad Williams; A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R. R. Martin; and Dune, by Frank Herbert. Favorite singles: A Brief History of Time, by Stephen Hawking; Under the Banner of Heaven, by Jon Krakauer; Galileo's Daughter, by Dava Sobel; The Stand, by Stephen King; Ender's Game, by Olson Scot Card; and Elantris, by Brandon Sanderson. Current books: ??? I need something to read..

Heroes:

Richard Cypher... so what if he's fictional?
