Usually I work with BIG, that is HUGE sounding music for production shows, theater musicals or records - anything that involves lots of musicians needing to play written music. That's my thing. Notes on a page, I go through alot of paper. I work with alot of artists who want to add strings or symphony orchestra to their music - usually I conduct the performance or recording session because I speak both musical languages of "legit/classical" and "rock & roll" so I can explain the feel to the orchestral musicians using phrases they understand...like "fermata" or "allegro"...then I can turn around and tell the featured band or artist "a couple bars ahead of the bridge" or "take it where the hook comes back in". In some worlds (like Pop/Country) they call me an Arranger, in other worlds (Broadway) they call me an Orchestrator...different words but generally the same idea - taking songs that need to be made bigger and making them more suited to a specific purpose. Sometimes I write the songs, that's when I'm the Composer or I work with an artist as a co-writer. I really like it when I get to be a part of the creative process right from the start with composing the song.

I've worked for alot of amazing artists like Carrie Underwood, Michael Bublé, Petula Clark, Ian Tyson, Paul Brandt, Jeff Hyslop, Dee Daniels and Jann Arden. Some of the shows I've worked on are American Country Music Awards, The Calgary Stampede Evening Shows (14 years worth), MACY's Thanksgiving Parade, a multitude of Broadway Shows including Dr.Dolittle, Crazy For You, NERDS, Annie Get Your Gun and Thoroughly Modern Millie.
In 2005 I composed and conducted a symphonic work for Queen Elizabeth II. The performance was broadcast on CBC and BBC television, and the highlight was when I finished conducting the orchestra I met The Queen and had a short conversation with her about my music.
