About Me

the smell of freshly cut grass and lazy summer days with pint to hand...festivals of visionary drifters and hardcore eccentrics, which mould into life itself. those who feel or those who think to surpass darkness and unmeaning to fantasy in clarity, which brings purpose once more. to ultimately be free from the mundane and tracking shackles of society, free thinkers, free lovers and free souls...---------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------It’s time to wake the fuck up! Go and see ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ about how global warming is a REAL issue. If WE don’t do something about it now, our children will not see tomorrow. It’s not a political issue- it’s a moral one. If we all do something small each day, we shall make a difference. If we force our politicians to take notice, we shall make a bigger difference. Don’t get me wrong I’m not one of these self-righteous egotistical arseholes who take the moral high-ground, I’m just like any other average joe- but I’m a strong believer that films that last only an hour and a half can change your whole perception on life and bring you back down to earth------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------Well what a summer! I was truly in a different plain of existence; in a sense that now it just feels like it was a pleasant dream. In this vivid dream I helped kids grow and develop in their own unique ways (well I hope:). I had talks and experiences with people who I didn’t believe really existed. Let my hair down (yeah go on laugh!) and went on a horse for the first time with no helmet or shoes on, let me tell you! - Gallivanted around a beautiful lake with surrounding woodland and graceful mountain, at a pace I feared not possible, but at a price of pure ecstasy! - All to find out I’m a pure natural (but with a respectful modesty:)I climbed an inviting yet deceptively tricky mountain side three or four times, with footwear that was hardly adequate. I did so with the biggest smile on my face, due to the people whom I was with:) I spent some of my best times in a place called the rec hall where I was either sitting by a fire reading an insightful book or getting attacked by children with purple paint, which by the way was colourfully decorated on my nice bright white shorts! If it wasn’t spent there it was always nearly to do with the lake. A lake which has given joy to so many people for so many years, that holds nothing back for time or anything else, that has so much beauty it would make the hardest of men cry. To be sat by it on the docks or to be immersed within it was a true pleasure. Then we have Mr. Cart (golf cart for those not in the know!) who escorted me on the days in which I had nothing better else to do than go at insane speeds down the path from horses- which if you know my driving was fun to say the least:) but not only was this done in the day! You guessed it! The night was something to behold, as a combination of crazy Callum driving and lack of vision put the excitement on a whole new level:)Not only did I experience the latter I also taught sports, archery (I am the master!), riflery (I am also the master), arts and crafts (with a heavy metal theme:), puppetry (yeah pee up a tree!) newspaper (sit off really Haha!) amongst doing such activities as rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, lake zip line, the blob, high ropes, low ropes, rocks and the yellow lake slide that met it’s maker when a storm came and ripped it to shreds! And I know I’ve missed a few things but I can’t get my brain into gear! Some kids were great in the cabins, some not so. but some experiences will always stay with me, which if I mentioned all on here would turn this into a novel of some kind- but for the sake of one I must mention the MIDNIGHT rave with pumping techno music and blinding glow sticks! Not only were my adventures held on camp, oh no! we went down to Myrtle beach in South Carolina in which we had a cracking time, in which I cant even remember for the most part (probably due to the intoxication!) and the time I spent at Wake Forest at the end of my stay in America- one word freshman parties! (Ok maybe two! But hellfuckingyeah!)So now I’m back in little ole England in limbo, but ready to start a new chapter in my life at university :) so all is good in the life and times of Callum Paul Wilkinson. Finally I wish to thank all of those who shared some pretty fucking cool experiences with me this summer:) -----------------------------------------------------------I m doing a national diploma in sport and fitness, although Im going to uni (cant wait!) EDIT:philosophy (which is pretty strange- but thats me!) I love playing football n Im pretty dam good (if I do say so myself!)
