Ollie Palma has been playing music since he was a younger lad (keyboard in Junior High/Gtr subsequently), as he was influenced by bands like the Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order and The Smiths (to name a few). He has been involved in the music scene in the San Francisco area in one way or another for years and has played in other local bands. Songcraft and melody have always been his passion.
Jeff Howard was studying design in New York when he picked up his first guitar. In his first band he was surrounded by kindred spirits who taught him to trust his musical instincts. Influenced by the same bands that Ollie was into 3000 miles away, Jeff started writing music on borrowed gear. His progression from playing guitar to electronic music has been slow but logical, given his influences. So far neither his obsession with music gear bordering on the erotic, nor his utter belief in the divinity of Robert Smith have ever been called into question.
Johnny Calderone has been singing all of his life. His Father was a Charro/Mariachi (Mexican Cowboy/Guitarist Singer), so music was always in his life. He started writing poetry in High School, as he was influenced by Morrissey, Martin L. Gore and Robert Smith. His abstract view on life and love are shown in the Deephearted's lyrics. This is his first time being involved with a band.
The Deephearted was formed in February 2007. The goal of the band is to make the kind of music they would want to listen to. The type of music that brings out emotion, memories and in some cases makes you want to get out of your seat and move.
