Mickey Moniker's been DJ'ing mostly within Vancouver's gay scene for over seven years, under an assortment of names.
As a regular DJ at Vancouver's Pumpjack for over five years (2001-2007), he brought together the kinky sounds of the emerging electro trend, along with forgotten new wave, no wave, italo-disco, and modern indie sounds when Christina Aguilera trance remixes had become all too commonplace.
Lately he can be heard at Vancouver venues like Shine, 1181, DVC, as well as appearances for the Vancouver Pride Society and Out On Screen.
As "pocketmonster", he produced a series of eightteen mix sessions for radiogay.ca, DJ'ed for the BEAR BOUNCE 2005 dance events in Vancouver, and was invited to spin alongside DJ Freddy, King Of Pants at Seattle's Re-Bar.
He's also played for two KUMA_SF events so far in San Francisco, as "pocketmonster" (2006) and " amphiguous " (2007).
In 2006, he appeared as " (Dirty) (Hairy) ", as a guest DJ at Vancouver's notorious BENT parties, and Celebrities Nightclub's STACKED night with DJ Betti Forde, on top of starting UNCANNY nights at LICK.
2007 saw the return of Vancouver's Bear Bounce dance party, the continuation of the quasi-monthly UNCANNY nights, and an appearance at San Francisco's Lucky Pierre club night at The Stud. Mickey was DJ and Emcee for Vancouver's East Side Pride. He's played for several Vancouver Queer Film Festival events, and was a guest DJ at the Halloween edition of the Odd Ball.
In late 2008, he's appeared at Chop Suey for Bearracuda Seattle, and San Francisco's Powerhouse. Mickey's also been part of Laser Dance Tuesdays @ Shine, Roboteria nights @ 1181, various local fetish events, was invited to DJ for the cast and crew of WATCHMEN, the upcoming Warner Bros. motion picture adaptation of the acclaimed graphic novel.
In early 2009, Mickey's spinning weekly for ROBOTERIA Tuesdays @ 1181, and is already slated to spin at events for Whistler Gay Ski Week, Bearracuda in San Francisco, and Vancouver's Pulse Nightclub (formerly the Majestic).
