Soula Media is also Soula Publications, an independent book publishing company that focuses on the topic of gangs, urban culture, hip-hop and criminal justice issues. Autobiographies, non-fiction, and research based books are what Soula Media is most intersted in.
Our first book, To Live and Die in LA: Inside LA's Biggest Blood gang will be released in 2007 by Terrell Wright , the author of Home of the Body Bags . We are also publishing Shell Shock: The Formation of Los Angeles Street Gangs and their Changing Dynamics in the 21st Century by Alex Alonso the founder of www.StreetGangs.com . We are based in Los Angeles but have an office in New York City, and plan on opening an office in San Juan, Puerto Rico to publish Spanish language books in Latin America.
