Charly & Lionel VAUDANO

Membre de la SACEM, Président du Jury du Concours International de Solistes de Jazz de Monaco. Chevalier de l'Ordre du Mérite Culturel. Vice-Président de Monaco Jazz Chorus. Charly est né le 22 mars 1947 à Monaco, il étudie, dés l'âge de 9 ans, la trompette. A 15 ans, il rencontre le trompettiste Aimé BARELLI et découvre le jazz. Il s'est produit au Nice Jazz Festival, au Festival de Radio France à Montpellier, au Printemps des Arts à Monaco, au North Carolina Jazz Festival aux USA où il joue et enregistre, de 1996 à 2000, avec Curtis FULLER, Paul JEFFREY, Jeb PATTON, Washington DUKE et Marc ABRAMS. Fondateur du Big Band de Monaco, co-fondateur des groupes "MC Jazz Quintet", "MC Fusion", et "Charly & Lionel VAUDANO Almost Big Band". Depuis 1983, il dirige le Conservatoire de Jazz et l'Orchestre Municipal de Jazz de Monaco. Compositeur et arrangeur, il a signé les orchestrations de son dernier CD "Monte-Carlo".

Lionel est né le 5 décembre 1974 à Monaco, il est rapidement attiré par la musique et effectue ses études, en guitare basse, au Conservatoire de Jazz de Monaco. Il entame sa carrière professionnel à la télévision italienne RAI, où ilaccompagne Céline DION, Gianni MORANDI et Sophia LOREN. En 1995, il est invité au Festival de Musique d'Aspen aux USA et se produit avec Paul JEFFREY, Lee KONITZ, Toshiko AKIOSHI, Eddie HENDERSON et Russel MALONE. Par la suite, il a joué avec le tromboniste Curtis FULLER, véritable légende vivante du jazz, Jeb PATTON, et Washington DUKE. Il est co-fondateur des groupes "MC Fusion" et "Charly & Lionel VAUDANO Almost Big Band". Il joue également de la contrebasse et de la batterie. Depuis 1996, il enseigne la guitare basse, la musique d'ensemble et la formation musicale au Conservatoire de Jazz Léo FERRE de Monaco.
