Lionel est né le 5 décembre 1974 à Monaco, il est rapidement attiré par la musique et effectue ses études, en guitare basse, au Conservatoire de Jazz de Monaco. Il entame sa carrière professionnel à la télévision italienne RAI, où ilaccompagne Céline DION, Gianni MORANDI et Sophia LOREN. En 1995, il est invité au Festival de Musique d'Aspen aux USA et se produit avec Paul JEFFREY, Lee KONITZ, Toshiko AKIOSHI, Eddie HENDERSON et Russel MALONE. Par la suite, il a joué avec le tromboniste Curtis FULLER, véritable légende vivante du jazz, Jeb PATTON, et Washington DUKE. Il est co-fondateur des groupes "MC Fusion" et "Charly & Lionel VAUDANO Almost Big Band". Il joue également de la contrebasse et de la batterie. Depuis 1996, il enseigne la guitare basse, la musique d'ensemble et la formation musicale au Conservatoire de Jazz Léo FERRE de Monaco.

Since 1983, he directs the Academy of Jazz and the Municipal Orchestra of Jazz of Monaco. Type-setter and arranger, he signed the orchestrations of his last CD “Monte Carloâ€.
