Apart from his personal musical, artistic abilities and achievements, Barry was also the first known individual to be officially appointed by the controversial reggae music legend and three (3) times grammy winner Bunny Wailer O.D to manage his musical affairs and artistry.
Bunny Wailer O.D is a reggae music legend, the last surviving founder member of the original Wailing Wailer (Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh ). Barry York was the sole manager and administrator on behalf of Bunny Wailer and his "Solomomica Tuff Gong Productions Limited" including it's affiliates! To represent and perform any and all actions relating to the overall function, development, and establishment of both the artist and his company internationally. After successfully working with Bunny Wailer (O.D Order Of Distinction Commander Class) to take the music and legacy to another level and wider musical masses. As Barry York would say. Priority had to be given to priorities, like Barry building his own musical empire. So moving on was logical. However, the link between both parties (B/B) is still brother to brother musically and otherwise. After all, Jah B and Barry York go way back. They are family. One Blood.

The former Creations lead singer is a multi talented Jamaican born singer, songwriter, musician, composer, arranger, conceptualizer, producer, musical laison, communication & media rep, artist manager, antoponeur etc.
Barry is a musical mistro who have worked with present and past reggae music legends, and multi grammy nominees and winners like Sly & Robbie O.D. Bunny Wailer, John Holt O.D, Lloyd Parks O.D (the late Peter Tosh O.D. the late Dennis Brown O.D. the late Alton Ellis O.D.) Dean fraser O.D. Lenkey "Diwali" Marsden, Cherine Anderson, Cutty Ranks, Ansel Collins. Gladstone Anderson, the legendary Maytones among others.
Before reggae, reggaeton, la-trenggae, dancehall and worldbeat music had an official recognized grammy catagory. Barry York was also already in the mix and was associated with Sly & Robbie and the Musical Revolutionaries, a kick ass recording session band that was the resident session band at the famous Channel One Recording Studio Kingston Jamaica making hit records.
The Revalutionaries was piloted by Sly & Robbie, Ranchy Mc-Lean, Ansel Collins, cranking out hits after hits and gave the opportunity to almost every singer and musician who had the ability to excel musically to make a name for themselves. Barry York was always in the mix with the Revolutionaries as a singer, song writer, musician, producer then, and still is now, even more so musically speaking.

He is one of the original rocksteady/reggar/world beat musical mistro, a musical architect that assisted in designing the foundation and direction of rocksteady and reggae music, and other forms of Jamaica (s) musical genres. His musical association with legendary and internationally know musician and artists like Sly Dunbar O.D (Sly & Robbie) Acoustic drummer, electronic drum programmer, musician, producer and multi grammy winner runs deep musically.
Sly Dunbar O.D along with Robbie Shakespear O.D is internationally known as the Rhythm Twins & Groove Masters together they have produced hits For (the late great Peter Tosh) Barry York, Bunny Wailer O.D the Maytones, Grace Jones, The Fugees, No Doubt, Simply Red, Maxi Priest, Shabba Ranks, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Shaggy, Sinead O Conner, Cherine Anderson, and the legendaary John Holt O.D. just to mention a few!
Barry have been associated and have Co produced many musical tracks and works with Sly Dunbar (Sly & Robbie). Barry York is (the missing link) a reggae music artist, pioneer and musicologist who remained musically focused and was able to make the musical transition, from then to now, and is now able to groove musically comfortable into all modern musical grooves as a singer, musician, songwriter and producer of various musical genres. Barry is also a busy man behind the scenes. Barry is also involved businesswise musically with Vern Maytone (The Maytones) and is associated with Studio Maytones in Canada.
