Born in the Midwest and raised in the South, Malcolm Shepherd has been told that he has an old soul. Perhaps that’s because Malcolm grew up listening to musical legends like Donnie Hathaway, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and other great artist whose songs include a message of hope, joy and love.Singer, songwriter, performer, Malcolm is the oldest son of very loving parents and shares his musical gift with four other siblings. Malcolm’s passion for singing began in the church where he first realized that God had given him an amazing talent to share with the world. Malcolm grew up surrounded by a family of talent including the legendary Jewel Bass, Mississippi’s “R & B Diva”, whose hits like “Overflowing”, “Sugar Bridges” and “Let Your Love Rain Down On Me” have lit the airways with awesome electricity.Malcolm feels alive on stage and gives his audience a performance they will remember forever. By mixing old soulful influences like Donnie Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye with the new school styles of Brian McKnight, Glenn Lewis, and Carl Thomas, Malcolm gives his audience a little taste of old school mixed with new school to produce smooth R&B Neo/Soul vocals.Four time Jackson Music Award nominee for best male artist, Malcolm has performed as a solo and featured artist with numerous bands touring various night clubs and small venues covering hits songs from the 70’s, 80’s and today. Malcolm’s current projects include live performances throughout Mississippi, Tennessee and most recent relocation to Dallas, Texas where he promotes and performs his first single entitled “Lately” from the debut album “Simply Music”.
