About Me

Par 6 comes from a small town in upstate NY. Hailing from Rotterdam, a town in Schenectady County, Par 6 brings a breath of fresh air to a primarily metal and hardcore punk dominated music scene. Par 6's music can best be described as Pop Rock with Pop Punk influences, getting regular comparisons to Sum 41, Blink-182, Green Day, New Found Glory, and Fall Out Boy among others. With a penchant for hooks and catchy as hell lyrics, Par 6 can be easily enjoyed by all lovers of the genre, and even some who don't.
Starting out as a couple of Juniors in high school, Steve Cohen and Zack Bartnicki started up Par 6 in 2007. Steve Cohen started writing tracks with no lyrics and beats from a drum machine, these songs became the foundation of where Par 6 is today. In 2008 Steve and Zack met drummer Nick Palazeke and he agreed to join the band. He then recommended long time friend and bassist, Paul Bonolo to the guys. Thus, the first true incarnation of Par 6 was born.
After attempting to find a solid vocalist with no success, Steve Cohen the bands lead guitarist stepped up to the mic for vocals. And he was a perfect fit. Their first ever performance was at their High School talent show, where they played a cover of "The Hell Song" by Sum 41, the bands biggest influence. From that point on they knew they had something. In July of 2008 they recorded their first set of demos on a CD they entitled "That's Irrational!" after a catch-phrase Paul used often. After playing some shows and getting their songs out there, Par 6 started achieving some recognition and popularity, getting some play on local alternative stations WEQX and 104.9 The Edge.
In 2009 Par 6 entered the studio with producer Tim Lynch at The Recording Company in Albany, NY. Lynch has recorded and produced the likes of Abbott Hayes, Hello Control, Last Minute Letter, and many other household names. The band recorded 2 tracks entitled "Change Your Mind" and "My Way (A Preference)." Using these tracks to market themselves, Par 6 has gathered even more of a following in recent months, building up a lot of buzz for the band and gaining a lot of new fans. Following a Hot Topic District Tour of upstate NY and Massachusetts, Par 6 has announced that they are going to enter the studio again to record a seven song EP called "Don't Worry About It" set to be released in Winter of 2009/2010.
In recent times drummer Nick Palazeke and the band chose to part ways, and as a result the departure of bassist Paul Bonolo followed. The band quickly found a new drummer in 16 year old Tony Chiarella, and a new bass player in 18 year old TJ Stears Par 6 expects big things in the very near future and is very excited for what the future brings. Keep an eye on this band in early 2010 after the release of their debut EP.
