About Me

All music is written by artist/ painter (more known for his drawings) James York. James York AKA "Jim Jim York" works on music more as a way of a audible art form. The way industrial music use to sound before all the disco has been added. Jim has been active in the Chicago industrial music scene since the mid 80s as a infamous DJ in such clubs as Exit, and Neo. Working at Limelight has met producers for Trax records, and wound up at the Trax recording studio at 6AM. After a night of bar-tending at limelite. Jim was well known with the Wax Trax crowd, and Cabaret Metro back in the day. Where he met many in the early industrial dance music scene. "Some of my truest friends are form back then!" We drank a lots of stoli, and Makers, but never work on any music with any members of Wax Trax bands that has been recorded, as we can remember. There might be screams, or laughs that can be found in some recordings, but that will never be known. We still like to drink! So Jim bought some synths, and this brings him to Yorkcorp. This is Jim"s solo project.I have to say that seeing Ultravox in 1982, Alien Sex Fiend, Cabaret Voltaire around 1984, and then Skinny Puppy around 1985 has change me forever.Horror film soundtrack. Yorkcorp would like to be involved with other bands that are looking for something original, and pushing the limits. Yorkcorp can compose works for performance artist, and rituals. I'd be interested in knowing what you have in mind. I would like to produce music for films, and animations. If you would like to use the music on this site for commercial use please contact me at this site.
