ZABUMBA-Ê / ESQUENTA-MULHER is an authentic Brazillian Pife (traditional flute) band, created by the flutist Adail Viveiros 2000 in Paris. Ever since their formation, they have participated in various events throughout France showcasing Brazillian northeastern ‘roots’ music to the enjoyment of diverse range of audiencences, which earned them recognition last March in two radio broadcasts, Latitude Musical on Radio France Internationale and Décalage Horaire on Radio Fréquences Paris Plurielles.Within a repertoire dominated by the striking rhythms of Baião, Maracatu, Frevo, Ciranda, Coco, Xote, Xaxado, Cavalo-Marinho, the Pifes occupy centre stage in the performance of arrangements which have been developed with the due respect to the traditions of the regional music of the North East of Brazil. However, the group experiments with incorporating in their music other sounds, such as the saxophone, clarinet, classical flutes, various Pifes, guitar and diverse percussion, thus creating a refined identity of the highest order of musical good taste.In January 2006, the recordings of the group’s first album entitled A PRIMEIRA LUA CHEIA (The first full moon), took place in Olinda-PE. It features along side original compositions, versions of classics already in the public domain, such as Cantiga de Lampiao and Juazeiro Verde, besides arrangements for Pifes of compositions by Tom Jobim and Milton Nascimento which are remarkable due to their rhythmical richness and which bring a new atmosphere to the interpretation of Quebra-Pedra and Noticias do Brasil.The group is currently looking for a record label interested in their work who could edit and distribute their record, which has proven through its simplicity, to be a great success with the public who have already had the opportunity to hear it.--------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------Zabumba-Ê esquenta-mulher ° est un banda de pife crée en 2000 à Paris. Proposant une musique aux racines "Nordestines", le groupe a réalisé de nombreux concerts dans toute la France, rencontrant toujours un vif succès auprés d'un public varié. Dans un repertoire dominé par les rythmes caractéristiques du Baiao, Maracatu, Frevo, Ciranda, Coco, Xaxado, Xote, Cavalo marinho, le groupe a cherché a intégrer d'autres sonorités telle que : le Saxophone, la Clarinette, la Flute traversiere, divers types de Pifes, Guitare et percussions variées, laissant la plus la belle place aux Pifanos dans des arrangements originaux élaborés dans le respect des traditions regionales du Nodeste brésilien.Ce qui lui ont permis de se forger une identité raffinée dans une esthétique musicale sophistiquée. En janvier 2006 ont été réalisés à Olinda (Pernambouco) les enregistrements du premier disque du groupe appelé PRIMEIRA LUA CHEIA (Première Pleine Lune)qui s’est révélé être un succès auprès du public qui a eu la chance de l’entendre. En mars 2006 le groupe a pu être médiatisé lors de deux émissions radio : Latitude Musicale (Radio France International) et Décalage Horaire (Fréquences Paris Plurielles) puis a France Culture à l'occasion du festival de cinéma de Biarritz. En ce moment le groupe cherche des concerts et espere bien ce faire remarquer pour trouver un label qui s'interesse a son travail afin d'éditer et distribuer le disque.
