Minnesota Museum of American Art

About Me

Now known as the Minnesota Museum of American Art (MMAA), the Saint Paul School of Fine Arts was founded in 1894. The history of MMAA is with the living arts that have helped to define Saint Paul, Minnesota. In its 114 years, the organization has thrived under seven different names and 13 different homes. Its life cycle has moved MMAA from an art school to an exhibition gallery to a museum with a permanent collection. Thanks to more than a century of enthusiastic students, interested members of the community, committed arts professionals, and talented artists, MMAA continues to grow with its community.
The MMAA has remained committed to increasingly represent the great cultural, racial, socioeconomic and regional diversity of American art and artists â€“ past, present, and emerging.
