Born in AUGUSTA, GEORGIA, home of the legendary JAMES BROWN, MARCO was always a child that stood out from the crowd. He was raised by both parents in East Augusta where single parenting was the norm. Never without a pen and a pad, he was a young buck during the late 1980s, an era that defined a generation with the emergence of crack cocaine, the spread of AIDS and the economic disenfranchisement of minorities. The son of the FIRST BLACK REPORTER for WJBF-TV in AUGUSTA, marco was taught to be a nonconformist thinker. He became a staff writer for a black-owned news circulation, THE METRO COURIER, during his teens thanks to the keen eye of its publisher, who quickly recognized his potential. That experience would prove invaluable. His proactive, community-centric mentality further developed while attending DAVIDSON FINE ARTS HIGH SCHOOL as a Drama Major. It was during this time that marco attcahced himself to THE NATION OF ISLAM. The teachings moved him in a new way, driving him to always be community minded and to rise above the low mindstate of most his age at the time. This change, perhaps, saved him from the same EASTBOUND streets he lost friends to;Be it prison, addiction or death. It is for this reason that Marco continuously pledges his love/hate relationship wit his roots. Too much at such a young age in the hood was thankfully balanced by parents who had the foresight to get Marco to focus on his crafts, acting writing and music production. He was enrolled at Augusta Mini Theatre and recorded in a studio to keep down on idle time. This grounding motivated him to continue to pen poetry, songs, scripts and stories of significance to the community and for cleansing of the soul. Some may refer to his style as "Backpack" Rap music but consider that some of his early influences were RAKIM, KRS-ONE, 2Pac and SLICK RICK and listen to the heart of an emcee in each track he releases. With the recent focus on Kanye, Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Common and Mos Def, it is clear that even the mainstream is weary out of "cookie cutter" artists and has been forced to once again big-up some of the truest emcees. The streets have come back to Hip Hop..Hip Hop has NEVER left the streets, and in the streets of Augusta there is no one with a more thorough resumé. It is with unbelievable swag that Marco grips the mic and reels in the listener. If you've ever been to a live gig then you can attest to that. Live Hip Hop in its truest form should be an experience. marco has written for and been a session coach for DUICE (multiplatinum "Dazzey Duks"), 12 Gauge (platinum), and he did a brief stint with TOP SECRET ("Lap Danz"). Although charted and hailed by BILLBOARD and VIBE magazine, marco walked away from it all, disillusioned with the "business" of music but not the craft. Along with his skills wielding a mic and a pen, marco is also an accomplished actor. He appeared in the movie PARIS TROUT with DENNIS HOPPER and several stage productions and musical tours. This MC, ACTOR, DJ and WRITER attended Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School with FRED PERRIN, star of The Boy King, a movie rebroadcast yearly that chronicles the childhood of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and SUTTON FOSTER, a TONY AWARD WINNING Broadway singer, dancer and actress.
He has churned out locally legendary tracks and CDs within the region and is currently at work on Hello Hip-Hop. : The Album and Hip-Hop 101: The Mixtape (May 19th). marco is also in the preproduction stages of writing and directing his docudrama, The JOSÉ HIGH STORY .
Considered a LOCAL LEGEND in AUGUSTA 'conscious' Hip-Hop, marco has links to the ultimate "who's who" of Hip Hop music in the A-U-G, including the legendary DJ Fred Nice, DJ Night Train, Track Walker, BlackBurd, Shiftee 250, Klutch, TAV, Rebel Lion and Souls On Ice. There are several appearances by MARCO on the latsest MEGWORLD MIX CDs featuring BRONX NYC's BIG MEG, and Hip Hop legends MINNESOTA, BOSS MONEY and BRAND NUBIAN. .

marco has recorded and performed with Lil G of Silk, Notorious B.I.G., T.I., David Banner, Mike Jones, Rasheeda, Pete Rock, 2 Live Crew, Goodie Mob, Talib Kweli and a host of other Hip Hop giants.
The underground confessional 'Sad Songs' was recorded shorlty after suffering the loss of his mom and the raw emotion pours through the first verse, followed by the always accomplished lyrical legends, Domiano and Charlie B of the original DSGB. Marco features on the second verse of 'Rebel Made' with REBEL LION and spits a rapid, thought inducing prose which covers national and personal security issues within a standard 16. The track 'Raw' was intentionally recorded without a hook and consists mostly of rhymes kicked 'off the dome.' The thrill ride that is 'Hollywood Love Story' speaks to those who think the grass is greener because of success in status. It attests to the fact that life in the bowels of society may smell like Irish Spring after experiencing the stench of celebrity. Surround yourself with positive people, keep focused and trust yourself are the points driven home in this epic. THAT is Hip Hop..Unapologetic emotion that edutains the youth.
