I am a full time logistics NCO asst.chaplain and SGT in the army. I enjoy having bible studies. I love playing sports,reading, and spending time with my family. I want to serve God and like preaching and teaching the word of God. I came to Christ when I was 19 and in 20 years, Christ has done alot of amazing things in my life! I am truly nothing without Jesus!Here's a story to encourage you and give you hope! My Wife Ciria and I have a successful marriage now but we had to go through a lot of trials and tribulations to get there! This is a bible story that parallel's our life and many of yours! And will bring encouragement in your life!I think of the Apostle Paul when he wished to visit the believer's in Rome. He had hoped that God would open a door so that he go see them and impart a spiritual gift to them as well as go on to Spain and preach the gospel. How he got there was not how he expected! He was beaten in Jerusalem and arrested. He then escaped an ambush and was imprisoned in Caesarea for 2 years on trumped up charges! To prevent another ambush he appealed his case to be heard by Caesar! So now Paul was getting a free exspense paid trip to Rome as a prisoner. He then proceeded to be in a storm for 2 weeks, almost costing his life and that of everybody on the ship! He then ended up shipwrecked on the island of Malta where he was promptly bitten by a poisonous snake! He suffered no ill effects. He ministered on the island and 3 months later was in Rome renting his own apartment under house arrest for 2 years! He then was released and he eventually went on to Spain to preach the gospel! Do you get the picture! In our own lives we have expectations of how things should turn out! We want to get to our destination a certain way. Sometimes our lives don't even mirror what we think it should look like. We may even become bitter, discouraged, or depressed. But remember God has a plan to get you to your destination and we have to trust him and not give up hope! Just remember though like Paul it may be through many trials and tribulations to enter the kingdom of God. If the Apostle Paul coudn't predict how he would get to his destination, neither can we! There might be snakes, ambushes, shipwrecks, imprisonments (spiritually), along the way in our journey as well! Just know though that these trials will produce a harvest of righteousness in you and others. For Paul it led to much fruitful harvest and reaching his ultimate destination. It will be the same for you and don't worry or fret if your life currently doesn't seem to match your expectations, because God knows how he will ultimately give your your dream according to his Will!God bless!
