Richard Dawkins and Gary Lightbody, but not neccesarily in that order.
Bit of everything leaning towards 'alt rock': Radiohead, The Beatles, Joy Division, The Smiths, Nirvana, Oasis, The Stone Roses, Blur, Pulp, The Manic Street Preachers, The Dandy-Warhols, Goldie Lookin Chain, The Streets, Babyshambles, Kaiser Cheifs, Lilley Allen, Daft Punk, Pennywise, Millencollin, Lostprophets, Brand New, Bright Eyes, Babyrattlesnakes, Transplants, Rancid, Drop-Kick Murphys, The Distillers, AFI, System of a Down, Korn, Slipknot, Marylin Manson, Metallica, The Verve, The Killers, Snow Patrol, Bloc Party, Ash, Operator Please, The Arcade Fire, Air and triple j is my radio station of choice.
Any GOOD horror movies, which are actually pretty hard to come by. Shaun of the Dead is awesome and it was filmed where I grew up (and recently returned to at the start of my gap-six-months). I'm often suprised by cheesy romantic comedies, and sometimes left cold by more intelligent films.
Shameless, Skins, The Mighty Boosh, cooking shows.
Anything by Irvine Welsh, anything by Richard Dawkins but especially The God Delusion...I'm generally quite well read.
LARA CROFT, people who aren't afraid to stand up for what they believe in.
