Hello to all friends and strangers who've passed or will be passing by myspace. I would like to do a little introduction of myself..........Okay! Here we go. Well! Before I came to be reincarnated on earth, my mother dreamt of a moon with 2 large rounded eyes chasing her everywhere she went. She was so scared in her dream that she had to hide away from the funny moon and still the moon always found her. As time passed by I was born and my given name was Jomrern. Errrrr could'd been Preah Jan, Jandara or Janthria instead? Cause I was the moon, right?........anyway Jomrern suited my personality very well. Jomrern mean prosperous...and of course I am one of the most prosperous children in the family. I came from a fimily of 13. Most of us died during the civil war and after. I had lived my life from the start of the killing field in Cambodia until the end as did most of Cambodians my age. During the Khmer Rouge regime I was a little child and I worked in the rice field. My job was to collect all the rice left over in the field along with more than 20 other children. There was no school, no cartoon etc... Only work and the smell of human decomposed flesh in the field. In 1979 when the Vietnamese invaded Cambodia my parents decided to move back to Onlongvil. We walked from jomka svai to Phnom Sompov. As far as I could remember the smells of dead human odors spread across the horizon and flies filled up the sky above us. We stayed next to Phnom Sompov for almost a month. There was a large lilly pond that provided water for all the migrants. Everyone fetched the water from the pond for cooking, bathing and drinking. After almost a month everyone made a gruesome discovery. There were dead bodies floating in the pond. I couldn't puke. I went without water for nearly 2 days. We moved on from Phnom Sompov to Khum Onlongvil which was my mother's birth place. We were reunited with relative on my mother's side that we thought were all killed in the regime. Half of us made it through the regime. My father found 3 of his sisters and an uncle. His parents along with 2 other sisters were presumed dead in Phnom Thapday due to starvation, sickness, or murder. His brother was a journalist and was killed along with 2 children and spouse. His other brother was film director and singer and he was killed. His name was Tat Somnang and some of the most famous movie in Cambodia that was directed by him before the regime was Pkor Lorn Derm Chnam and many more. And some of the songs that was sung by him was Ah jah bang cher, see bai bowk chnang, and many more. I left Cambodia with my father cousin in 1979 to the border of Cambodia/Thailand with thousands of other refugees who fled hunger in Cambodia in the hope that any prosperous country would accept us in their country and allow us to find a better life. My parents stayed behind as they sent me first to come along with my aunt. They made a promise that they will come after in a few months, because they needed to save some gold to do the traveling with 2 other kids. Unfortunately they never made it. They didn't trust the situation in the border. My mother came to the border to pick me up to go back to Cambodia. Unfortunately it was a good thing that the war between the Para and the Khmer Rouge broke out and she could find me. We were all went into hiding and scattered all over the jungle. My mother went back home empty handed. There was no me going along. I went to live in Kao I Dang and then Kab Chern, Kamput,Chun buri and the final destination is the most famous country on earth,America.Voila!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
