The Story...
It all began years ago when two of the three members of Superfly,Tony and Joshua formed their first band under the name of Lunacy. Most weekends you could catch a show at "The Barn"-- an actual barn in Tony's backyard on the dump road in Rochester, New Hampshire. They had great expectations. But like so many original bands, worthy or otherwise, commercial success was not in the cards. It truly is "A Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)" as AC/DC poetically explained. Having learned the painful lesson firsthand, they disbanded.After a hiatus they decided to put together a cover-original band called Au Natural. At the same time Tim was busy with Fancysick. They played covers as a way to get their originals heard. This was not a successful venture, ending not long after it started much to the dismay of a growing fan bases. Persistent individuals, they joined several successful projects in the local
music scene. Some played covers, some played originals. The Pat Foley Band, 24 Karat, Fancysick, Pull, Chain Drive, Lester Max, Black Lemon, Piranha Swing and Die-Cast Messiah to name a few. Recently time has been taken to spend with families and friends and to grow both personally and professionally. Which brings us to today.Superfly formed almost organically. All the members seem to have simply "known" that it was time to form--and this time, get it right.From the sound of it, they were not mistaken.The foundation of the Superfly sound is an unmistakable rhythm section. The drums and bass form a thunderous lockstep, summoning the whole room to the dance floor. Ferocious guitars and vocals complete the package. The Superfly song list is designed to ensure that there is something for everyone. If you like to dance, Superfly is for you. If you like to rock, ditto. If you like to dance and rock--well, enough said.The members of Superfly consider it their mission to make sure no one leaves a show disappointed.
