Using such equipment as Panasonic HD Cameras (plus a variety of other formats) and Professional DAT equipment.
Five feature films have been made as part of the National Youth Film School program – THE CHILDREN (2002), STEALAWAY (2003) (both U.S. Film Festival winners), LILY'S BAD DAY (2004) and ELIZA MAYFLOWER (2005). And in 2007 we launched our most ambitious project yet with the NYFS, SUCKERS.
No other film making programme offer you the opportunity to work at such a professional level with broadcast equipment.
Last years feature movie was SUCKERS and was directed by John Doran and Chris Slack from a script by John Morton. It tells the tale of a detention class in a secondary school who are the only survivors against a vampire virus that has turned their teachers into bloodthirsty leeches. It was our biggest, messiest, most ambitious production yet.
In 2008 we made our newest feature film, a feature length homage to the classic silent comedies called THE SUITORS. It is written and directed by Stephen Colfer and will be released in early 2009.
The story involves 3 men (all versions of silent movie comedy stars) who are in a comically intense competition for the hand of the fair Daisy. However, slapstick soon turns to bloodbath as their attempts to sabotage each other gets nasty.
