Talent, energy and beauty highlight the music of Marina Serdyuk, an up and coming singer based in Colorado. Her upbeat mix of pop, rock and dance music showcase her talent as a singer, songwriter and performer. Her passionate vocals range from beautiful and melodic to powerful and intense as she sings through a full array of emotional songs that relate to her life experiences and musical influences.
Originally born in Kieve, Ukraine, Marina and her family moved to America soon after. Influenced by the musical background of her family, she discovered her own passion for music at a young age. She began with performances in her home for family members and continued to develop her musical skills through school and various performances around the Denver area. For the past few years she has been recording and performing her solo material and making appearances on several Denver area artists CD’s and performances. She has just finished recording her first album entitled “Take Me Awayâ€. Her powerful voice and strong pop hooks have not only captured the attention of music fans, but also the attention of several national and international dj's, radio programmers and music licensing executives.
On “Take Me Awayâ€, Marina belts out stunning performances through a variety of pop styles. With layers of vocals set over orchestrated strings and synths, intricate guitars and solid grooves, each song on the album has something different to offer. The album opens up with “What Do I Have To Doâ€, a power pop rock anthem with heavy guitars and belting vocals reminiscent of Kelly Clarkson. The mood and setting changes with the next track, “Pirateâ€. Featuring Marina’s elaborate vocal lines and harmonies, as well as complex string parts, synths and percussion designed to take listeners on a daydream fantasy. On the title track, “Take Me Away†Marina shows her impressive piano skills and delivers an emotional vocal performance. In contrast to “Come Back To Me†which delivers a pulsing club track suitable for any dance floor.
The variety of the album offers a window into the depth of Marina’s musical talent. Producer Cliff Pfeifer explains “Marina is such a talented singer and writer with so many great ideas, I wanted to make each song it’s own. The variety of her music inspired me to take on each piece as a composition and explore the depths of her emotions and vibe through the music.†Pfeifer also played drums, engineered and mixed the album, all of which was done at Terrasound Studios. The final mastering for the album was done by multiple Grammy Award winner David Glasser at Airshow Mastering. His golden ears and professional touch brought the album together and added the final polish.
A relative newcomer to the music scene, her captivating voice seems destined for bigger things, and she proves it over and over again throughout the course of her album. Marina's solo material is just the latest chapter in her already successful career as a singer. She has received many accolades as a soloist in choral concerts and competitions, winning several awards with schools and youth groups. More recently, she has been lending her talents to cameo appearances on several Denver area artists songs and performances. Most recently, her music has been selected to become part of a music library that is available to students in 107 different counties designed to provide suitable music for student projects while teaching the values of copyright.
Currently, Marina is in the first stages of putting together a live show to feature her solo material performances as well as writing new material for her follow up album. With every passing day, she continues to win new fans and is looking forward to electrifying audiences with her live performances in the near future. Her talent and energy is just beginning to shine as she looks down the road to a long and successful music career.
