About Me

I'm Lindsay. I like baking, afternoon naps on cold days, taking the first bite of something new, the sound of dead leaves on the ground crunching under my feet, the smell outside right after it rains, the feeling of being on the next to last page of a good book, and touching everything in fabric stores. I dislike the sound pencils make when the erasers are gone and the metal rings stratch against the paper, the smell of diesel fuel, violence, vegetable shortening, and Phil Collins.

My Interests

Outside, books, yarn, fair trade, flour, friends, human rights, video games, cuddling on the couch while watching movies, social justice, dinner parties, independently owned small businesses .

I'd like to meet:

People who are any and/or all of the following: kind, funny, excellent dancers, and enjoy potlucks.

Music:

Pretty much anything. Current favorites are Damien Rice, The Avett Brothers, VHS or BETA, Bon Iver, The Felice Brothers, Cat Power, Jimmy Eat World, Aesop Rock, Cold War Kids, and Tegan and Sara. And I don't own an ipod.

Movies:

Willow, Howl's Moving Castle, Real Genius, Stardust, Last of the Mohicans, Sabrina, Rushmore, Pride and Prejudice, Legend, Amelie, Wonderland, the Princess Bride, and pretty much any Kung Fu movie.

Television:

No TV; but I do enjoy watching Due South, Scrubs, and Dexter dvds.

Books:

The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Blood Runs Like a River Through My Dreams, Pillars of the Earth (before Oprah read it), Harry Potter, Dubliners, Ulysses, Doctor Zhivago, The Brothers Karamazov, The Catcher in the Rye, Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man.

Heroes:

M.K. Gandhi, Ben Woodruff, W.B. Yeats, Paul Rusesabagina, Jacques Torres, and Doug Slocum.
