About Me

born 1968 in Istanbul/Turkey.
Musical instruction in Germany and the US (High School & Drum Corps 1985-86, Drummer's Collective New York 1988 and 1990).
Since 1989: working professionally with various artists in diverse styles of music.
1990 – 1993: drummer with the Tigerpalast International Variété Orchestra, Frankfurt. Band members included Tom Schlüter (p) and Michael Harmssen (b).
1992 - 1994: member of the Acid-Jazz group "Club Supreme Band" (residency at Frankfurt's legendary Cooky's Club with DJ Heinz Felber).
Featured vocalists were Linda Carriere (formerly with Loose Ends), Mikey Romeo and Alfred Mehnert.
1993 – 1994: percussionist at Schauspielhaus Frankfurt for Anselm Weber's modern production of Sophokles' "Antigone", with Alfred Mehnert and vibraphonist/composer Tom van der Geld.
1995: drummer for the Tom Schlüter Band at Thomas Koschwitz's RTL Nachtshow (daily Late Night Show); live appearances with Robert Palmer, Tom Jones, Jermaine Jackson, Will Smith, Nina Corti and others.
1996: sub for The Who's musical "Tommy" (Musical Theatre, Offenbach).
Performances at Musikmesse Frankfurt for Audio Technica (1994) and Alesis (2000) as well as gigs throughout Germany and Switzerland with New York-based organist Jon Hammond and guitar-legend Barry Finnerty.
Since 1997: Andreas is maintaining his own recording studio (www.drumtrax.de), specializing in recording drums and percussion.
Since 2002: Drummer for Frankfurt-based record label 3p (acts included Glashaus, Sabrina Setlur and Moses Pelham).
Tours with Glashaus (2002, 2005) and Linda Carriere (2002).
Since 2004: Drummer for Ali Neander’s acoustic group Fifty Fingers
(check out www.myspace.com/alineandersfiftyfingers) with Norbert Dömling (b), Christoph Aupperle (vib) and Martin Wagner (accordeon).
Since 2008: Andreas has established a second homebase in Paris and comes to Frankfurt on occasion to work live and in his studio.
In August 2008 he won first prize with the Pierre de Trégomain Quartet at the National Jazz Vocal Contest in Crest/Rhône-Alpes.
2009: Andreas plays drums on most tracks of Ringsgwandl's new album ("Untersendling") along with Daniel Stelter (g) and Frieder Gottwald (b) at Schleuse Studios in Frankfurt.
In France he records with Hugues Duchesne (p) and Manuel Marchès (b) for La Borie Records in their studios in Solignac as well as with pianist Nico Dri in Paris and continues to play concerts and club dates.
