The indierock band Manatee Racket came together in the town of Sandefjord in Southern Norway in summer of 2006. The band plays catchy and melodious indiepoprock, inspired especially by the british indierock scene.
During it’s short lifetime, the band has already played at festivals like the Quart Festival (Norway’s largest festival), Slottsfjell Festival and Musikkfest Oslo. In February of 2009, the band had three successful gigs at the by:Larm festival and congress for the music industry. Amongst the venues the band have played, are Rockefeller, JohnDee and Mono in Oslo, and Samfundet in Trondheim. The magazine PlanB has entitled Manatee Racket the «best unsigned Norwegian band on MySpace».
