The name is Joe Sauntry and I was born and raised on the Miramichi...I’m a lefty who Loves the sound of dirt and the feel of maple. My weapon of choice is the Fender strat (really...is there any other). In various cover and original bands I have pretty much played it all over the years from country to rock, bars to weddings and loving every minute of it. Now I’m a family man rock’n in my basement but the adventure is still ongoing and ever-changing so stop by now and again.
The first album Beast of Love created in Brandon, Manitoba in 1996 and released in 1997 was an idea pieced together by Blair Bolduc who had a great appreciation for Maritime musicians and Sound. It consisted of myself, Corey MacDonald on drums also from the Miramichi, Nazeem Lakay on bass formerly of Wild T and the Spirit, and Blair Bolduc on vocals.
All and all the album, although not quite what I expected, is and was most definitely a huge stepping stone of the next and yet to come.
The latest and greatest endeavor is Butte Montana and The Last Buoy Bell, songs my father wrote (Art Murphy from Backslider).I produced and played the electric on these, they're catchy tunes so take a listen.
