Slinky Sharp was a progressive,young reggae artist who was passionate about his music.He saw himself as a messenger of truth and was serious about empowering himself and those around him.
Slinky Sharp has two full length CD albums to his credit,"Sharp Truth" and "Earth Defender" and has left reggae music fans with a legacy of lyrically sound music with an overall positive vibe.The "Sharp Truth" CD covers a whole range of sub-genres in reggae music,from the rocking rhythm of "Thank You",to the dancehall sound of "Top Class Beauty" and to the conscious old school sound of "Fight I Down".His most recent album,"Earth Defender",Slinky gives us an even clearer view of his level of sophisticated consciousness.He reflects on environmental protection,social justice,righteousness and praises to God.As Slinky put it"This album is about the defense of mother earth and the upliftment of those who trod upon her."
Slinky was no stranger to the professional circuit,doing live performances alongside several local and international artists including Sanchez,Sean Paul,Anthony B.,Beenie Man and many others.
Slinky was born in Kingston,Jamaica and raised by his mother in Hanover, Chester Castle also in Jamaica.He loved to sing even when little and had been singing since the age of seven in local community events .He moved to Brooklyn,NY at the age of thirteen where his love for music continued to grow.Influenced by,though not merely made a product of tough Jamaican village life and the dog eat dog Brooklyn streets,Slinky firmly established himself as a rising conscious artist.
Although Slinky Sharp is no longer with us, his music will live on forever!
