Pastor Altavon Clark is a native Washingtonian born to Mother Fannie M. Clark and the late John T. Clark. He was educated in the Prince George’s County Public school system. While attending Forestville High School, Pastor Clark played a major role in the development of one of the finest gospel choirs in the school’s history. Upon graduation, he received a scholarship to attend Liberty University in Lynchburg VA, he became the Minister of Music at Prayer of Faith Temple Church Of God In Christ. It was during this time, that he received his call to the ministry under the leadership of the late Bishop N.B. Wilder.Pastor Clark was gifted with leadership skills and abilities. His music ministry began when he was eight years old. At the age of thirteen, he became the Minister of Music at Little Rock Church of Deliverance under the leadership of Bishop C.B. Richardson. He shared his music ministry gift with Free Gospel Deliverance Temple under the leadership of Bishop Ralph Green where he served for two years as the Music Director. For several years, Pastor Clark served at New Bethel Church Of God In Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Sherman Howard as the Youth and Young Adult Choir Director/Musician. He served on the state level as the Minister of Music for the Washington, DC Jurisdictional Youth and Young Adult Choir of the Churches Of God In Christ.Pastor Clark’s preaching ministry has caused him to travel extensively throughout the East Coast. He served youth conventions, seminars, and workshops. Presently, Pastor Clark is the Founder and Pastor of Praise and Deliverance Tabernacle in Landover, Maryland. It’s Pastor Clark’s desire that the church be taken back to its foundation, HOLINESS. Pastor Clark stands on the scripture: “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 16:25Pastor Clark is the father of two beautiful children, Alton Javon Clark and Alexis Faith Clark. †
